What's bonsai

bullet

Bonsai is a relaxing, nature-oriented, growing art form that cultivates horticulture, esthetics, vision, foresight and patience.

bullet

A challenging, sustaining reward:  A bonsai is an artwork; yet unlike a picture or sculpture, it is also a living thing and requires constant, knowledgeable care for sustenance.

bullet

Potential recognition and development:  Bonsai enthusiasts see trees not only for what they are but also what they can be, and the continuous development of this potential is one of the art's many pleasures.

bullet

The virtue of patience and the value of time:  Bonsai development must obey many immutable cycles and unaccelerable rhythms of nature therefore a bonsai's value typically improves with age.

Fine Arts Appreciation

bullet

Since one's choice of fine arts is subjective and not philosophical, there's no right or wrong.  It would be preposterous for us to dispute if you liked Andy Warhol but I preferred Norman Rockwell.  Instead, respect the differences and treasure the diversity.

Refine taste  and enrich enjoyment by uninhibitedly and boldly exploring contemporary, exotic creative-expressions as well as investigating classic masterpieces whose splendor seems to transcend time and space.  Resolve to be true to your passion rather than be fashionable.  After all, what's considered stylish today might become gross tomorrow and vice versa.
