Preface:  Our sister, Alice, occasionally had to go on out-of-state, business trips for several days.  During these times, her two young daughters missed their mom dearly, and her eldest daughter, Melody, expressed this emotion:

My Mommy

Mommy is the best mommy ever!  Sometimes she reads with us but she is

restless all the time.  When she says something she expects it to be done.

Sometimes it is hard to keep up with her.  I miss her a great deal when she is

gone.  I try not to cry but I do.  When I do miss her I make waffles.  I am

like my Mommy in many ways for example I like to read in quiet places.  But

what is important is I love her.
