Win-Loss-Game Definitions

Everyone-for-himself games

In the nutshell, when the game ends or when the points deficit of any of the players reaches 100, a player's score is compared against that of each of his opponents to determine win-loss as in separate one-on-one pairings.  Here's an easy lookup chart:

bullet

For a 2-players game:
bullet

The winner would get 1 win, 0 loss, and 1 game counted in his winning ratio calculation.

bullet

The loser would get 0 win, 1 loss, and 1 game counted in his records.

bullet

For a 3-players game:
bullet

The winner would get 2 wins, 0 loss, and 2 games counted in his records.

bullet

The 2nd place loser would get 1 win, 1 loss, and 2 games counted in his records.

bullet

The 3rd or last place loser would get 0 win, 2 losses, and 2 games counted in his records.

bullet

For a 4-players game:
bullet

The winner would get 3 wins, 0 loss, and 3 games counted in his records.

bullet

The 2nd place loser would get 2 wins, 1 loss, and 3 games counted in his records.

bullet

The 3rd place loser would get 1 win, 2 losses, and 3 games counted in his records.

bullet

The 4th or last place loser would get 0 win, 3 losses, and 3 games counted in his records.

This system ensures that the sum of wins + sum of losses = sum of games played and assigns the appropriate value to the additional difficulty of winning when playing against more players in various types of everyone-for-himself games.

4-players team games

A team game of 2 players playing against another 2 players is considered to be equivalent to 2 separate one-on-one games, but the game ends when the points deficit of any of the 4 players reaches 100 or other agreed conditions.  Only the total final score of each team is used to determine the winners so, regardless of individual final scores, for the 2 vs. 2 team game:

bullet

Each member of the winning team would get 1 win, 0 loss, and 1 game counted in his records.

bullet

Each member of the losing team would get 0 win, 1 loss, and 1 game counted in his records.

Basic Contest Agreements

At the beginning of every month, the player with the best accumulated winning ratio, from a qualifying number of games played, on the last day of the previous month would be crowned as The Reigning Champion.

A qualifying number of games played is defined to be equal or greater than the accumulated number of games played by the third most active player.  This is to eliminate the "flash in the pan" case in which someone played, won only 1 game then quit forever to eternally end up with a perfect winning ration of 1.000

Accumulated instead of monthly records are employed in the determination of the championship to reduce the influence of luck and to reflect true and enduring gaming skills.

Hall of Fame:

  1. All game records will be reset at the beginning of each year to give everyone a fresh start.

  2. The player with best winning ratio, from a qualifying number of games played, at the end of each year will win the title of Power Ranking Champion for that entire year and be honored in the Hall of Fame.
